Job Description:

As an Intern Pharmacist, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical care. You will assist in dispensing medications, counseling patients, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. This internship provides practical training to develop your clinical and operational pharmacy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispensing and Patient Care

1. Assist in preparing, dispensing, and labeling medications.
2. Provide medication counseling under the supervision of a pharmacist.
3. Ensure accurate prescription processing and verify patient information.
4. Educate patients on proper medication use, side effects, and storage.

Inventory and Supply Management

1. Assist in managing stock levels and checking for expired medications.
2. Helped in ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceutical supplies.
3. Maintained accurate inventory records and reported discrepancies.

Compliance and Documentation

1. Followed all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
2. Assist in keeping detailed records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and controlled substances.
3. Ensure proper handling and disposal of pharmaceuticals.

Customer Service and Communication

1. Provide friendly and professional service to patients and healthcare providers.
2. Address customer inquiries and refer complex cases to the pharmacist.
3. Support the pharmacy team in daily operations and workflow.

Learning and Professional Development

1. Participate in training sessions and pharmacy-related educational activities.
2. Stay updated on new medications, treatments, and industry trends.
3. Observe and assist in clinical decision-making under supervision.

Qualifications:

1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor\’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology or Pharmacy (BPharm).
2. Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail, pharmaceutical, health care, or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCY

1. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Basic knowledge of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy operations.
5. Proficiency in using pharmacy management software is a plus.
