Responsibilities of Accountant:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards tax rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements on time
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
- Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes
Qualifications for Accountant:
- Membership in ICAN, ANAN, or any other applicable professional body is a plus.
- School degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years in accounting/finance experience
- Advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with accounting software
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
- Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
- Highly detail-oriented
- Work experience as an Accountant
- Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC work experience
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
